Importance of Yogini Ekadashi

As per Hindu belief, Ekadashi is a day of great importance and is the day on which Lord Vishnu is worshipped. This is one of the most important days of the year when many people fast and pray. In this year, there is an event known as Adhik Maas, which occurs every four years. As a result of this, the Yogini Ekadashi has so much meaning this year and people are able to benefit from it in many ways.

There will be a Yogini Ekadashi celebration in 2023, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The yog will start Ekadashi Tithi Start: 13 June 2023, Tuesday from 09:28 AM and Ekadashi Tithi End: 14 June 2023, Wednesday upto 08:48 AM apart from that Vrat Paran Shubh Muhurat: 15 June 2023, Thursday 08:32 AM It is suggested that devotees observe a fast on this day and attend special prayers and rituals. Devotees can also read the Ekadashi Vrat Katha on this day. It is believed that by observing Ekadashi Vrats, one can be blessed with health, wealth, and spiritual blessings.

Importance of Vrat on Yogini Ekadashi

On the ekadashi, a person who devotes themselves to the Lord and prays with clean intentions can help to fulfill their wish if they do so on this day. There is an ancient belief that vrat is equivalent to feeding the 88,000 brahims, and all their wishes are fulfilled during Yogini ekadashi. Ekadashi is also believed to be the day when Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Universe, is awake and listening to the prayers of devotees. For this reason, it is also known as "Deva Ekadashi" or "Deva Shayan Ekadashi". Devotees are encouraged to chant mantras and meditate on the Lord during this day.

Signification of Yogini Ekadashi

Yogini Ekadashi is one of the 24th ekadashi and occurs during Krishna Paksha in Ashadha. It is believed that observing fast on this day bestows spiritual and material prosperity to devotees. It is believed that on this day, by worshipping Lord Vishnu, all kinds of miseries can be eliminated and obstacles can be removed. By observing this fast, the devotees can attain moksha, the ultimate liberation.

It is believed that by fasting on yogini ekadashi person gets free from his birth cycle and all past sins. Fasting on this day is believed to bring prosperity and good luck. Devotees also offer special prayers and rituals to Lord Vishnu. It is also believed to bring good health and long life.



Rituals to follow:

  • Do puja to Lord Vishnu by offering diya, incense stick, water in copper vesel, tulsi leaf but can't pluck on the same day and sweet dish.
  • Offer flowers in the puja and chant mantras.
  • Do a arti with camphor and complete the puja with prasadam.
  • Offer prasadam to Lord Vishnu and seek blessings.

Don't pluck the tulsi on ekadashi. This is because Lord Vishnu is especially pleased with the tulsi leaves. Offering them to him on an Ekadashi day is especially auspicious and beneficial. Plucking leaves on this day is considered disrespectful and can lead to negative consequences.

Chant mantras and do Vishnu Sahastranama to receive his blessings. Offer Lord Vishnu your prayers and ask for his protection and guidance. Spend this day in peace and joy. Be kind and generous to all living creatures and do your best to help out those in need. Surrender to the will of Lord Vishnu and accept the good and bad that comes your way.

Offering food, clothes, and money to needy people on this day is a worthwhile way to help them. Pray for the well-being of everyone on this day. Offer thanks for all the blessings Lord Vishnu has bestowed upon you. Spend time reflecting on your spiritual journey and make sure to follow the teachings of Lord Vishnu.

Do chant the Yogini Ekadashi Vrat katha while praying to Lord Vishnu. This katha is important and after chanting, we receive his blessings. After chanting the katha, offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with a peaceful mind. Lastly, meditate and seek his divine grace and blessings.

Finally, offer donations or charity to the poor and needy in the name of Lord Vishnu. Thank him for his blessings and end the vrat with a prayer of gratitude. After the prayer, the devotee should take a bath and dress in fresh clothes. Offer a light snack to Lord Vishnu and distribute it among the poor and needy. The vrat is then considered complete.
